My Dad's buddy has one, They come with a 03-04 cobra motor I think. My Dad's buddy's has a ported blower on it, and that thing moves out.

I don't think its the Cobra motor. I know its supercharged but according to a couple ebay listings its a 4.2L and not a 4.6L like the cobra. They claim 400hp though.

Wonder how reliable they are aside from the transmission?

its been great since i got it, no problems on the tranny at all .... yeah its a 4.2 liter v8 with a eaton roots style blower on, set up a lot like a 03-04 cobra cept the displacement and a A6 tranny, it moves out pretty good, im waiting to see how much the kenne bell 2.1 blower for it is going to be in a couple of months

Oh my bad, You know those silly Ford motors are all the same., Seriously though, it was a quick car, and very nice.

I was a Jag tech for a while, The S-type R can really move for as big as it is. Just to keep in mind, Jag came out with new alignment specs for the front. If you happen to notice premature tire cupping on the inside fronts just take the car into a dealer for the alignment. You can also have them print the numbers so you can take it to another shop.
Enjoy the new car!
