New avatar...having an issue with Mac format

I am trying to place up a new avatar I made using seashore on my macbook...the size is correct and everything...but I am having issues putting it up...the format is not correct.

If someone could tell my dumbass what to do I would appreciate it. Thanks!!!

Never used seashore before. Can you open the picture in "Preview" and save it as a jpeg? Or import it into iPhoto and export it as a jpeg? Thats the only thing I can think for you to do.
