I think the tailights and dash are stupid, but I think the engine swap is cool.

The guy has several muscle cars apparently and wanted something different. Everyone bashed the exhaust tips but the rest of the car is very high end and nicely done. Not something I would do but its a really nice car regardless. Think about the work that was involved and quit hating because its different. There is a pretty long thread about it in the Texas section. Here's the link. He was just being a smartass at the beginning and states that later in the thread.

I dont care how much that "camaro" is making to the wheels, but putting an import engine into an American Muscle is simply wrong in my book...

The swap is debatable, but the car is very nicely done. You gotta give respect to that. Of course a V8 would've been nice, but the car is still sick.

Here are some awesome pics:

I think all the stuff going on in this car, engine, transmission, interior, trunk, wheels are all extremely nice, but it just doesn't seem to mesh into a classic camaro, I dunno maybe it's just me.

yeh, its been posted all over the place. The money lost on a project like this has to be huge. On the other hand, if you bought it, you could always pull the 2JZ out, sell it, and with the money put a LS7 into it.

I thinks its pretty cool, and different. What if the car started out as a sixer anyways? How would this be any different? I say good job to him for doing it so well and clean. It doesn't seem like it was a true SS, he just named it that.

Most likely it was a plain Camaro to start with.

Its kind of ironic that Toyota's 2JZ has its roots in a Chevy inline six in the first place. Toyotas first inline six cylinder design was copied from Chevy trucks during WWII.

The Import guys will claim, that they (Toy) started with a clean slate but I bet you will find some similarities between the old Chevy and the 2JZ, ie bearing dia, oil channels, something. The Japanese are great copiers and they throw nothing out.

Excellent craftsmanship...it is weird to hear that exhaust note from a Camaro...but you can't argue about the workmanship.

I'm just glad that someone has put domestic powerplants into the import fanboyzz' 'icons' (Poopra, Skyline) as seen in other threads.

At least that evens the score somewhat for the above abomination (and yes, I DID already give it kudos for workmanship/quality in the multiple OLD threads about it).

Man, some of you are SOOOOOOOOOOOO lame... That car is cool as ****! Nice workmanship, clean as hell, nice attention to details (gauges, tail lights, etc...) and for those of you who talk **** without knowing your cars, that car CAME with an inline 6 to begin with (it is a Camaro, not a factory SS, hence calling it a Supra Sport)...

...now it has an almost 1000hp inline 6 and you're mocking it? Get a clue guys...

People put Chevy motors in Deuce Coupes and they were still cool. At least it isn't a 100hp Hybrid motor

"Mocking" Most of the comments here are rather neutral. Most common quote is "the workmanship is great, but I probably wouldn't do it". You know if you posted a Mark4 with an LS1 in it on the Supra site you would probably get banned.
As far as 1000HP 2JZ's go, we all know what they're horspower curves look like and It needs no explanation why one of our cars with 600 HP can easily beat them.
