We have used oil to cool and protect electronics for a long time. Transformers on telephone poles use tanks of oil. The problem is over time the oil becomes very carcinogenic, that is bad.

Think about the transmissions and valve body electronics, all those electronics are covered with oil.


It is cool to see it applied though. In the video they really should take the fan out of anything submerged. Oh and don't try veggie oil, the stuff gets rank over time.

cool set-up seen one similar a few years ago you can actually take it a step further and have a container of dry ice attached beside it.
