man, that is horrible. The damage was way less than what i happen thought but still, that poor deer is now dead.. which is horrible.
But, i guess its ok since you have a great story to tell when guest see that deers head on the wall and ask, how'd you get it?!

Only time I ever hit a deer was in my lifted Jeep Cherokee. On my way to work and it was snowing. I was probably going too fast on the highway for the conditions. no other cars on the road but me at 6am. Deer jumped the gaurdrail and started slipping and sliding. I wasnt about to hit the brakes in snow like that. I thought she was gonna get up and make it, but she slipped again and I nailed her. Luckily my jeep is big...because I literally just ran it over. No damage, and I think she went quickly...which made me feel alittle better.
Damn deer...

Most rally special stages are not even 10 miles long, but there can be up to 30 of them in an event, connected by longer transit stages on open public roads at legal speed limits/traffic laws.
I guess the noise, along with the shotgun blast sounds of some of the anti-lag systems they use (as well as the even louder backfires from the few old rotary FB RX7s still running these events) scare most of the Odocoileus away, except for the suicidal ones (or the ones that don't know which way is up when they get spooked).

oh man that sucks! Next time the deer should check both ways before crossing the street. Kind of reminds me of this one video i saw a while back, i actually found this one to be somewhat humorous:
