Moddin' Art pilot
In the past I have boldly sent in entire one-hour volumes of Moddin' Art to networks for consideration as a new television series knowing this is not the way it's typicly done. Perhaps I wanted the bragging rights of doing it my way.

Alas, no sale yet so I have finally come around to their way of thinking and I have constructed a show pilot and a treatment that I feel simply can't miss. SPEED has agreed to take a look at Moddin' Art now for the 4th time. This is quite rare and I feel the 4th time is the charm.
keep yer fingers crossed!

I have an Avid Adrenaline HD and do almost everything on it. I do effects that cannot be done on it with After Effects on the same box. I have a boatlaod of plugins so outside of true 3D, there is really nothing that cannot be done in this suite. I do all my sound design within the app itself. All of it.
you can surf some of my work at www.grinnerhester.com if yuo like and I'll be happy to answer any indistry questions for you.
I was fortunate enough to design a couple of video departments for colleges back in the day. I sure wish programs like what are avilable today were avilable back when I went to school.

yea, I've been learning programs like After Effects, Combustion, 3DS Max, ProTools, etc... I've got about 9 more months left till I get my B.A. in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics...
You look like you've done VERY well for yourself. It's good to see that you still enjoy doing it as well. One of the biggest fears for me is getting burned out on it all. I'm hoping it's just feelings I'm getting from school because of the boatloads of work they give us on all these projects. We used to have Avid at my school but they got rid of it about a year ago and mentioned we are getting some new program that is becoming more popular in the industry. I forgot what it was, but my professor was mentioning that avid is slowly being outdated for some reason or other... I've never used it but have heard it's a great program.
I checked out your website, VERY NICE indeed!!! Good luck on the SPEED Channel!
Ldogss, I created 9 one-hour volumes of Moddin' Art on DVD. They are still on the store page of my site but I found in making em one at a time (a nature of the beast not having a budget for the show yet) I actually lose money on DVD sales... depending on where shipped anyway. They were always meant just as business cards for the show anyway. In volume 8, I announced it would be the last of the DVDs. I didn't look at that as an end to Moddin' Art so much as a beginning.
I had a good day of cold-calling networks today. Sending out two more pilots.
it wont be long now.
