A load of scrap for $250, yay I'm not wanting any money back since it has been so long, but that doesn't hide the fact that I was sold a heap of ****.
Back when I started looking to swap my 98 TA to a 6spd I got a PM from nitroussharks saying he had a flywheel, pressure plate, and clutch along with a slave cylinder and a very nice console top plate. It ended up being like $250 or something like that. This was a bit over a year ago.
Anyway, the stuff got here and the console plate was total crap. The ashtray was shattered and the console was cracked. I've seen better pieces in a junkyard. I email him and I get a "too bad so sad" more or less. He offers me $20 back if I send the thing back to him. OK, I paid you $35, but apparently since it was a "group package" that somehow changes the price since everything was shipped together. Since it would cost me half of that to send it back, I just listed it here for sale with pictures and an honest description and got some of my money back selling it to someone else.
Then I realized the slave was junk, the throwout bearing was toast. Because of my prior interaction with him, I just decided to cut my losses and not deal with him. I found a used one in my shop, so decided to just use that one.
Well, after getting the swap completed the car was making a ticking noise, which sounded a lot like a bad throwout bearing. Not wanting to take the transmission out again I just dealt with it, since I don't drive it far anyway.
Well, since we were taking the car to G14 this year I decided it was time to fix the noise. I drop the transmission and install a brand new slave/throwout in it. Put it all back together and guess what.....the noise is still there!
It is either the clutch or pressure plate that nitroussharks sold me. ****. So out of everything that I bought from him, the flywheel is probably the only thing that is worth a damn.
I'm sorry, but this thing made noise from the second I started up the car. This thing had to be noisy when he pulled it out.
Whatever, I don't want any money back, I don't even care for an apology. I'm just pissed.
Buyer beware, that's what I get for trying to save a few bucks.
