Default BEWARE OF Avaric3!!!

Hey guys, just want to throw a heads up out there about this guy Avaric3. I have been a member here for quite some time and have made numerous transactions. I had try to buy a camaro front nose emblem yesterday from him, and he would not let me send money as a payment for goods. He only wanted it as a gift. That made me a bit nervous to send the money.

Thanks
Matt

Avaric3...Sure, send the $15 as gift to ONEQUICKVSIX@aol.com and ill have it to you on time. Do you need the delivery for thursday or will delivery on friday get it to you on time?

MJR7AD...Thursday would be great, if you could do that, so I have the car all ready. thanks again. I can not send the money to you as a gift. It will clearly be noted it is for goods to you as the seller. That way it will protect both of us in the trasnaction.

Matt

Then I never received anymore messages after my last pm waiting for that to be ok. That made me think this kid may be trying to scam some fellow tech members. Just a heads up guys....

Not defending seller, but I have asked buyers to send small amounts as gifts also to avoid paying paypal fees. Would never do it with large amounts....

in all seriousness though, i wouldn't think twice about sending a regular forumgoer 15 bucks or even 100 bucks for something via gift, they're not gonna ruin their rep and get banned from LS1tech over such a small amount of cash, IMO.

Even with paypal always use your credit card, preferably and amex. Sure, you pay the fee but even when (not if) you get screwed by a seller and paypal ****** you in your ******* you can still get your money back from your card issuer. I never even mess with a paypal dispute. Not necessarily relevant in this particular case but something worth considering for higher-$$$ stuff from people you don't know.

I can't stand pay pal - they have some serious issues. When it comes to making a payment to each his own. I'd never send a payment for goods as a gift either if it is a transaction for goods. IMO - if someone is willing to lie about $15 they will lie about other things as well. Not trying to flame anyone but if there are fees just simply decide who pays them - I don't care how corrupt the system is it doesn't give consumers the right to lie.
