May 25th, 2004 - Purchased LT1 Engine as advertised here in the 4 sale section....
I made payments on it as I did not have the cash up front (Sent 400 of the 600 he was asking.then paid the rest off 2 weeks later)
August Engine Arrived....
Engine had broken valvesprings on arrival, a dent in the oil pan, and some borken sensors *the latter I contributed to the shipping company*. (All exhaust 3 on the drivers side, 2 more on the passenger side)... Also had TR6 plugs.. (N20 used?) Engine was quoted as "46,xxx mile motor, runs good". I put a set of EX612s on to replace the springs with my own money and used stock duration 1.5 rockers.
Sept 17th - Engine in and car running....https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-modifications/217256-fired-motor-up-today.html
Oct 01st - Car died while approaching stoplight. Started hard but seemed to be ok after that. Was running great up to this point.
Oct 04th - Engine developed a rattle at higher RPM, near 4,000rpm it is a sickening sound that sounds as if the engine is going to tear apart.. suspect valvetraing damage (pushrod? Spring?)
https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-maintenance-repairs/234645-rattle-3-000-rpm.html
Oct 06th - Valve covers off.. no broken springs, no bent pushrods.. noise is most noticed coming from exhaust side that had the worst broken spring (Was broke in multiple places).
Nov 6th - Enjoy has been rattling/acting funny for past month.. been babying the car. (my only car and ive put less than 10miles on a week since I heard the noise
) Never seen the track just ~1000miles since I got it running and only 1 full run against another car (ferrari) and a few short encounters.....otherwise I was taking it pretty easy on it. Car hasnt seen WOT since late Sept..The noise, and power loss is pretty damatic. Oil pressure looks ok, but a little low from what I remember it being. Can not locate bent pushrods/or any damage up top. Noise has become present near idle. Traded in for 2005 G6, too much work to deal with something else...Today - Nov 24th, Dealer had the car sold as soon as I had traded it in. Guy came and test drove the following day only returned to complain of a knock from the engine. I had not heard a knock myself (just the rattle) but the service dept looked the car over and the knock was present.. (spun bearing??) Looks like I got out from under that ordeal just in time. Car was sent to auction this past week.

I dont think I would ever go this route again..better off just buying a bare block and getting it redone by a reputable shop than waste money. I have all documentation...conversation logs, PMs, as well as pictures (which I will post when I get the chance)..
Lesson learned I guess.
