Default benz-ta = SCAM ARTIST

Benz-ta has scammed me for about $300, and a few other people too. I sent him $340 for a ls6 intake, and he never sent it. After I sent payment he wouldn't respond to any pms or phone calls. It has now been almost 3 weeks, and no one has heard from him. Here is the thread he started: https://ls1tech.com/forums/lsx-parts-sale/456661-ls1-performance-parts-list-inside.html
What else can I do short of hunting him down (which I am not oppose to doing)? I filed a complaint with paypal, and they decided in my favor because he wouldn't respond to it. They said they could only get $43.16 back. That means he still scammed me for almost $300. Anything else I can do to try and get my money back?

This sux!, I have never used paypal so I have no 1st hand knowledge AT ALL, and just looking from input that alot of guys on this board that do use PP have had with the system, my question is do ya'll think that PP should require that peeps that use their system should always have a minimum amount 500.00-1000.00's in their account to be able to sell this way? All the years that I have been here and have seen threads like this it always seems that even when PP decides in the favor of the guy/gal that gets ripped off's favor there is NEVER enough money in the account to refund the original purchase price? Someone please explain to me how come this happens so often. I would like to understand, Thanks.

Yea I've never seen anyone get more than $50 bucks back, regaurdless of how much they paid. When I asked about this, they said they only guarantee transactions for ebay auctions. Therefore, they don't have to return any money at all if they didn't want to.

Well this is bullshit. I got a respose from paypal today, the complaint was decided in my favor because ben wouldn't respond to them. Out of $340 I paid him, they would only return $43.16. They said they don't guarantee transactions like mine and thats all they could get. I think I might have to visit him in person like SgtB to get my intake. I started a fraud alert in the member feedback section: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...81#post4394881
If ben still has your money please post over there.

Yep. Paypal is horrible about stuff like that. I think they ought to go after scammers and refund your money regardless of what's in their 'Paypal account', just like the credit card companies do. (And maybe that would help discourage some of the ridiculous numbers of people scamming on Paypal, too.)

Hm. benz-ta was online just yesterday.

Closed the thread so he can't mess with it, and so that the scam discussion can take place here in the correct darn forum. Actually, think I'll move all those posts over here where they belong.

STILL NOthing what a piece of work. I left him negative feedback on this site much good that will do me. I guess the only way ill be buying stuff now is if they post it on ebay first and ill use buy it now to purchase it. that way it would be covered. Enjoy my money you bastard.

Well it's good to finally hear from you. I hope what you say is true and your buddy has the decency to refund our money.

Ben's friend chris called me tonight. He said there was a mis-communication between him and ben. He apologized a few times and assured me I would get a refund by the end of the week. He said he has already given a few refunds back. He also said he knew about the people that bought the torque convertor and trans cooler and those people would be getting their refund as well. I have his phone number if any of you guys haven't talked to him yet. He sounded sincere, hopefully he isn't bullshitting me.

Well, that's good news if true! Let us know whether your refund comes through.

Well I still haven't heard anything from ben or his friend chris. I was told I would have the money in my paypal account wednesday or thursday. Once again I can't get ahold of ben to find out what is going on. I am so sick of this run-around...

this is driving me nuts. Cant we just ban him from this site period? I still would like to receive my money or item but if we manage to keep people like him and his friend (think its prolly him too) out of a great site like ls1tech it would benefit everyone. I just hope no one else gets screwed. Im a lot more cautious because of this pos.

Well I finally got my money back today. From what I gather, ben kind of got screwed as well in this whole deal. His friend is the one that took peoples money and didn't send out any parts. Ben did his best and finally got his buddy to give me back my money. I guess thats all you can ask him to do in that situation. I'm sure he has learned not to use his name/account to sell things for friends. I only hope the rest of you get refunds as well.
