What Should I Do??!! ok i rescently bought a motor and trans off a user on here. it was guarenteed to be in perfect running order just drop and and go. well i got it in my car and 20 seconds after it started it threw a rod through the bottom of the oil pan. the rod broke in half. rpms never got over 2200rmps. i changed the oil in it and it was full. i dont understand this so i called him. i called him and told him what happened and said i would get a diagnostic printout to show that the rpms are what i said and that it only ran shortly. now he wont answer his phone. i paid 3500 for a motor and tranny. the motor is ****. dthe car has a broke rearend so no way i drove it or anything. what can i do about this. i would be happy if he just gave me some money back but he wont answer my calls. anything i can do?

get together ll transcripts,receipts,ads etc that proves that be the case
hava a witness that can attest to the 20 sec failure then get some legal advice to resolve your claim.
or if he is coveiniently located return the broken engine and ask for another

the motor was on a crossmemeber when i bought it with a tranny so i dunno how i could have done anything wrong. everything is hooked up. he just keeps saying he is gonna call me back but doesnt. he is in kentucky im in indiana. i dont wanna have to take him to court but i guess i might have to...

I don't see how you can do anything really. How do you know it wasn't running ok when it was pulled and threw the rod when you ran it? Could have just been time for that rod to go. You'd have the burden of proving he knew it was running badly when he sold it otherwise you're SOL.
