Default I have a problem...

I sent out a nitrous kit on the 19th to someone using the post office. Come to find out, when you use parcel post they have no way of tracking which means you have no way of knowing when the item has been delivered or if it has. I would be willing to refund the money if I knew that the item was not received, but right now I am having to go off the good faith of another. Being in school makes it hard to lose 450 dollars on top of a nitrous kit. I have the receipt showing I sent the item (shipping was 32.60) but do not know what to do. The supervisor at the post office said either it will show up in Mesa AZ or it will show back up on my door step and to just give it more time. Should I return the money, talk to paypal about the situation, or what? I feel terrible for the other guy as I would be just as pissed if I did not receive my items, but at the same time if the item is later received, will most have good enough good faith to return the paypal or would they take it as a "I earned it" kit?

Cliff notes- Item ship, Item was said to not be received, no tracking available on item, USPS said item will either show up there or show back up here. What would you do in this situation?

personally i would contact paypal let them know whats going on, and i would contact the person that is waiting on the kit and see if he can wait it out a few more days to see if it shows up, im sure that the postal service has some way to check for a package. most ppl are either to lazy or just dont want to help anyone.

They said with Parcel Post they have no way of tracking the package.... Yet on the 19th the guy behind the counter said Parcel Post is just fine. Priority was going to be well over 40, meaning I was going to be well south of 400 on a loaded nitrous kit so I didn't go with it.

I use parcel post and Priority mail frequently, but pay for delivery confirmation so I get a tracking number. I usually pay for an insurance also. Both services are really cheap. No problems at this point. Good luck.

yup. pay the extra bucks (sometimes its 1-2 dollars) but atlest its traceable.
plus its automatically insured for $100 bucks, then you add insurance past the $100.

i would wait it out...but parcel post is hard to prove anything, hopefully good faith happens

I was going to say the same thing! I only use the post office for cheap ebay crap that I sell otherwise I use ups because of the tracking and they usually don't leave it without a signature. I shipped a number of things by ups and have had great luck so far. I even sent headers and a bicycle box and it was only $25!

I hope everything works out for you man!!

I shipped a couple mufflers via USPS and they took forever to get there. It was literally 3-4 weeks. Guy thought I scammed him but I did buy insurance and they kept tracking it and it hadn't been delivered. You have to wait like 28 days to make a claim or some ****.

He has the reciept showing you he shipped it out the 19th . You have to understand where he is coming from. Its hard to trust anybody nowadays how does he know you dont have it and trying to get your money back at the same time?

Parcel post is the SLOWEST delivery method the USPS offers for bigger boxes. It could take up to 6-8 weeks for a box to get across the states. It will turn up. Sorry the buyer should of paid up a little more up front to get better shipping.

Ive always used USPS for smallish stuff and just the priority mail. Its usually cheaper then UPS and Fedex and arrives in the same time frame. If its bigger or a pretty high dollar item take it to UPS or Fedex and get freaking real tracking on it.

I have bought and received alot of other things I purchased from this forum. The seller was really good a communicating with me and his since stopped. Who doesn't pay the extra dollar for a confirmation? I paid 450 dollars for a used nitrous kit that could be had for half the price. I myself have sent out stuff through parcel post and always put insurance on everything I send out for this same reason. That receipt doesn't show much, it shows he shipped something out but how the hell do I know it is for my stuff??? I already filed a claim through paypal and the seller said he would refund my money at the end of the week if I had not received it yet. Well?? That has past and no kit or money.

The reciept was all that was given to me, so it was all that I have. I've not sent anything out in the last month so I knew that one was current. I also needed your information for them to find the receipt. The guy behind the counter did not offer insurance or tracking on the parcel, so I assumed it was not offered. As I said, I know how you feel, but I also know USPS will get it to you or will get it to myself. I am going to further investigate the issue monday before I send back the paypal but do not worry, I have not forgotten about you. I wish that kit was only half the price. I lost my tail end selling the kit but had no use for it. Had I known the post office was going to lack this much, I would have just driven across town and sent it via UPS. It saddens me to see that you feel I've not tried to return the PM's to you because I've been trying, but hopefully everyone can come out of this with at least a decent note.
