Leave the wires and have the rear o2's tuned out of the computer.

You can also get an O2 sim to trick your car into thinking it still has the cats in place.

I agree. Tune them out. A tune really smooths out that power curve too.

now im confused. are we talkin bout just a normal engine tune that also gets rid of the sensors or a tune that solely tunes them out?

you can do either

some places will only charge you $25 or so to tune JUST the sensors out.

but if you're gonna do full exhaust, getting a full dyno or street tune will optimize your power and allow changing of things like fan settings, shift points, torque management, skip shift, EGR, AIR....etc...

and cutting the wires off is the same as just disconnecting the sensors...you'll still get the code.

but the code has NOTHING to do with the operating condition of the car/computer.

Not even close. Take your car to a reputable LS1 tuner (you can find quite a few on here) and let them do the tuning.

x2 for cutting the wires that wont do anything. As for the operating condition of the car? that will change the computer will measure the after cat o2s and if it sees no signal or no change(o2's are constantly going rich-lean) then the computer is going to try and change everything on how the car is operating.

No. The front o2's work with the PCM to adjust the the afr. They are the ones that have to function. The rear ones are an emmisions thing and just sense if the cats are functioning. Hence if you cut the wires the PCM gets no signal and assumes the cats are malfunctioning and triggers the SES light. Tune the rear ones out = no SES light.

Predators and handhelds are a total waste of $$ IMO. They are very limited in what they can actually do. Spend a little more for a dyno tune or find somebody close with HP tuners/EFI Live and get a street tune. It is usually a lot cheaper to get a DT "touched up" (by same tuner) when you add more mods too
