ss question Im looking at a 2000 ss camaro and have a question about the shifter. It is a six speed and has a "H" on the shift ****. I know this is for Hurst, but does the car have a complete hurst shifter or just a fancy ****. the car is original. Also, this will sound like a really dumb question for you camaro guys, what size ring and pinion does the f-body 10 bolt rear have? I've had a fox body mustang for the last 15 years, so its my excuse for the lack of chevy knowledge.LOL

Look at the RPO codes, the original paperwork, try driving it to see if it feels like it has a short shifter installed, or disassemble it. Any of those ways should tell you pretty fast.

Yes, this is probably the optional Hurst shifter and it is a different shifter from the stocker. It is a "short shifter" but not as short as the aftermarket ones or even the other shifters from Hurst like the Billet Plus. Mine had it and I changed to the B&M. I kept the "H" **** though so mine would be even more confusing.
