Default Battery

I bought a magnaflow catback, so I am going to reset my cars ecu or maf. People say to disconnect the negative battery terminal. Can I disconnect positive and negative to reset? Do both ways reset the ecu?

Just disconnect the negative and then go in the car and step on the brake. This will activate the brake lights and get any extra power out of the system that could possibly be keeping your ECU alive. Wait a few mins then re-connect. Thats what I would do.

I think you have to disconnect the battery for 8 hours or so to reset it. I dont see any reason why this would need to be done though.

Just un-plug the Connector on the Wheel Well that powers the PCM.

No reason to reset the PCM.

You only have a ECU if you have a 93. You have a PCM.
