I found my battery draw/Now I need help
My car kills my battery slowly(over a week of sitting). So I got my multi meter, and checked all the fuses while looking at the amp draw.
This is what I found. When sitting with all fuses in, my draw is at 0.078 amps < this is what is killing my battery.
I started pulling fuses and this is what I got, the PCM draws 0.001 amp.
The fan circuit(with the fuse installed), draws 0.024 amps.
With both the PCM fuse and fan fuse pulled I still have a draw of 0.006 amps.
Now for the good ****. With the courtesy lamp fuse installed the total draw is about 0.078 amps. So this damn thing alone is pulling 0.047 amps. The lights are not on at all, I tried without my LED's installed and with regular bulbs. Same ****, well with the regular bulbs in the draw drops to 0.074.
I also checked my other car which never has any battery voltage issues. Its draw is about .030 amps.
WTF can I do? What can it be?

how old's your battery man?? .078 really isnt that bad. i have led's on in my car at all times, and my battery does fine.. its prolly just time for a new one...

A few hours of tracking different **** and I found that the BCM is responsible for 0.047 of the amps drawn.
This way too much to keep a battery alive.
Can anyone check their amperage draw? If you don't know how and have a multi meter, PM me.

In most cases .050 A is considered normal and is not enough to kill a battery. I don't think the BCM is the problem. Courtsey lights probably are. Are you sure the trunk switch is
working. Are you getting two honks when you lock the car with the remote and not just one? I had a problem with the trunk switch getting stuck on the carpet and not working properly.

Every thing is shutting off(I checked all the lights). When the BCM is hooked up, it draws almost at 0.09 amps. When I disconnect it, it drops to around 0.030.
I thought it could not be the BCM, but what else?
All the lights are off, everything else is working as it should. And this much of a drain kills my battery in about 3 months total.
And yes it honks twice, when I lock it with the remote.

LOL . . .No, I don't let the car sit for 3 months at a time.
In about 3 months I have to get a new battery because the old will no longer take a charge. Like the last one I just pulled, it would not keep a charge passed 11.5 Volts.
All the lights are really turning off. But, the amp draw does not change over time. I let it sit for 5 minutes or an hour. I have tried both, I just the multimeter hooked up.
I really thought it is the BCM, but when I pull the Courtsey fuse the drop is gone. And this is when all the lights are already off.
Aslo this draw is no where near big enough to be a bulb on.

If I disconnect the battery then reconnect it, the amperage draw stays at about 0.032. Then if I open the door and the lights come on the amperage draw will not drop bellow 0.080 + even when all the lights turn off.
I still think it is the BCM. . . . . .

Well, this is just odd as hell. . .
I unpulgged everything, then put it all back together. All the sudden it drops like it should. WTF? I did not do anything, now it goes to about .03 with all the interior LED's on, then it drops to .01 then .003. . It did not do this before. . . Man, diagnosing electrical problems is the worst. I can't figure some **** out like this.
Oh, well. . . I guess I will just watch the amperage draw and voltage on a regular basis.

No I bought the Tender Plus w/bag and extra 25 ft cable for $45 w/shipping off ebay, although I wish I would have gotten one with multiple leads. IE, you can charge more than one battery, I swap this unit over to my zero turn lawn mower during the winter and I foresee a 4 wheel atv sitting in my garage too...

50 milliamps is the max allowed. 30 is prefered.
When you test it make sure you give it at least 20-30 minutes to 'time out' & all the modules to completely shut down. Then confirm the draw.
Have seen BCM's in the past on various GM cars cause a draw. The courtsey circuit is key off power used for a lot of componets.

I had another toppic going on here. But, this is what I found.
I thought it was the BCM. Tore it out along with my remote start module, the drain was gone. Plugged it back in, it was back. So I tried it a couple more times. . . And it stopped, no more drain(well, it still draws 0.03 Amps or so).
WTF? I am just going to disconnect my battery. . . ******* GM, WTF?
Battery Tender = Gay, my car is not a electric vehicle that needs to be charged.
