Default Tire Sizes?
What size tires should I put on the back of my Firebird. I got 17X11 ZR1 wheels. I don't want to make any modifcations to the quarterpanels for the tires to fit.

315's for the 17x11's and you will have to do some modification ....

maybe a little hammer in the inner fender and you should be fine.

I thought firebirds have a bigger fenderwell then camaros? Shouldnt it fit with no problem?

Nope we're talking about the inner fenderwell. On a side note im running 315 sumitomos on a 10.5 rim and it required no modification.

just dont get the goodyear gsd3's in 315 35 17 and youll be fine.......sumitomos are a POS

If you are at stock height 315/35 will go on nicely.

BS! Sumitomos are the Pacesetters of the tire world. Best bang for the buck. I've had my Sumitomos for a while and I drive in the rain a lot, living here in Louisiana, so I know there a decent tire, as goes for the dragstrip, I couldn't tell you.

I have corvette z06 wheels on my 2001 camaro ss. The fronts are 17in 275's and the backs are 18in 315's. I have Nitto 555's all around. I did have to put a 1 in wheel spacer on the rears so my tires wouldn't rub against the fender walls. Others wise those tires hook up really well and rides very nice.

same with me, only i hit a 2" by 2" little space with a hammer and painted it black and i didnt need spacers. i would rather do that then risk stud integrity. just MHO

with the 315's there should be no problem with your firebird... im running a 315 tire and 10.5 rim as well and had no issues
