Default Cam install question

Hi,

So I've been reading my 'Haynes repair manual', and it is full of good info, and giving me a good insight into many things.

It says that to remove the camshaft, I first need to remove the intake manifold and heads.
Now, I don't know my way around an engine yet, but there is no mention of removing these parts in the cam install write up that I've read on here.

Am I missing something, mabey the swap is 'easier!' than I thought?

intake and heads DO NOT need to be removed for a cam install.

Have you checked out www.ls1howto.com ? There is a guide on there that might help you out also.

FWIW
Looked through the cam install guide there a couple of times, but the whole thing lost me a bit back then.
Since I've been reading the Haynes manual, I've gained a much better understanding of the engine as a whole (still lacking bits though).
After rereading the how2guide recently, I was surprised at how much better I understood the job, and how much '!easyer!' the whole thing sounded, (Lack of removing intake manifold and heads I guess! ).

Thanks for the link and the confirmation.

Hope that all makes sense, last night was !!
