Windshiled wiper problem.
Windshiled wiper problem. OK in short I never had problems before a hood swap. Now afterwards my wipers when turned off go all the way to end of there stroke and stop in the middle of the windshield. Occasionally when turned off they will stop in the stock postion at the bottom. I replaced my hood and fender (dr) on the drivers side there is a finger size gap because the fender needs shimmed. When I first bought the car it was missing the under hood fuses box covers . So I thought maybe there was a wiper relay wet and causing this problem because I had a previous car do the same.. I ordered the covers and there isnt a relay labeled wipers on it and after looking around Im dumbfounded.. SO any advice greatly appreciated.

Did anyone find the solution. Mine are parking in the middle of the windshield as well. You turn them off they go down and then up, down a little and stop in the middle of the windshield. What is the deal.
I have a little S10 as well and the wipers just quite working randomly and then start again after it has been parked. You would think GM could figure out windshield wipers!

It's the wiper motor. A fairly common problem. There is a bump stop of some kind in the assembly or motor that is cheap plastic and breaks. It happened on my '97 Firebird while it was still under warranty and the dealer replaced the motor.
There may a fix that doesn't involve changing the motor but I didn't look into it because the fix was free to me. There have been other threads here about it so maybe a search will help. But as far as I know, this is a case of one little flaw causing a big fix.
