Default Larger TBs

Will a bigger throttle body hurt your performance, say if you put a 90mm throttle body on a stock LS1? Just asking, so I can tell when to put on a bigger TB. What power should I be making for a 90mm TB?

Thanks

Match it with a 90mm intake and it will be great, but to port the stock one is more than fine to 450 rhp+

on a stock ls1 its better to jut port the stock tb, because the intake manifold opening is smaller than 90mm, so there isnt much advantage to buying one. the new lsx intakessupports 90mm tb's, but my guess is that youwont need it unless youre making soime serious power already

port the stock TB. its not been tested(AFAIK) but the difference in openings could cause turbulence, which may or may not affect performance. If you only want to buy a throttle body once, find one of the many home ported tb threads/how to's, like at installuniversity.com or something. then when you upgrade to the new lsx intake with a 90mm tb connection, you only had to spend your money on a tb once. personally i'd send it out to bauer and have him do it, i've heard he does some amazing work. but its your money bro.

I second cyphur's comments regarding Bauer. You can't beat the price or the quality of a Bauer ported TB. Top notch all the way. You'll feel your throttle response increase and a nice SOTP increase as well on a relatively stock motor. It's not a big power mod obviously, but a good one to say the least.

With stock cubes and little, if any, mods save the money. The stock manifold and ported stock TB are plenty sufficient.
