Throttle Body
Throttle Body will i get any sound or performance gains by getting a new throttle body?? all im plaaning on doing to my car is cat-back exhaust and a new lid and maybe a high flow cat...i feel my car is basicly fast enough for now and I am really wanting to make my car sound really sweet...i have a 2001 trans am...
From what I have read on this board there really aren't any gains to be found in a new throttle body unless you have internal mods done to the engine. I think it gives you the feel of better throttle response, but nothing that shows up on the track or on the dyno. So I suppose if you plan on going with a heads/cam set-up a year from now go ahead and get one. If not save the money and put it towards some headers or a pulley or something.

Hmmm...Intresting, Ive seen guys on here pick up 5-10RWHP from just a ported (Jantzer or Bauer) TB. Its only 130 bucks plus your core. Cant go wrong with that. Plus they coat them in the way pretty powercoat. Good Luck

The throttle bodies we do for the C-5 Corvettes produce 8-10 RWHP and better throttle responce.The nice part about the F-body is that the computer doesn't have to relearn the idle rpm like it does on drive by wire Corvettes. It is a good modification even on a stock LS1 as the extra air leans out the air fuel ratio as they are rich from the factory.
