i think the engine is reliable enough, other things will go wrong.

That's why gm dealerships are so not liked, owners had to make more visits than they would have liked.

you can buy something more balanced..not "Super sport", just sport-y and more daily driven built.

Bought my Formula used in 2001 with 10,200 miles on the clock, it now shows 70,500 in just over 2 years with the following repairs:

-50,000 delco battery boiling-over the fluid put in a gel battery
-57,000 replaced passenger-side window mirror, original died

That's it! I do normal maintenence, I put 450 miles a week on it, been raced plenty, drove to California and back for a race, ran pretty consistent times, not a hiccup (except a pass-key problem that was traced to a dirty chip).

Waited a long time to buy a F-body, and the LS1 left me ever since they hit the showroom (doesn't help much that my dad works at a pontiac dealership so I heard about them constantly, but at least I got a good deal )

Bottom line-go for it! You'll never regret the decision!
