general tool thread
Guys,
I have had my 2001 Z-28 for about 5 weeks now and was wondering what tools I should have in my car for emergency situations? I used to have a 1996 Impala SS and had a small tool kit with sockets, ratchets etc. that were specific to basic maintenance on the car. I haven't had to do any work on my car yet, but I want to be ready in case of some freak event. So aside from jumper cables, tire pressure gauge, screw drivers, and pliers what other tools do you think would come in handy? what size sockets are used to remove the brake calipers? any other suggestions as to what to keep in my emergency breakdown/maintenance kit?
thanks

The bare-bones took kit I would usually haul around includes:
1 flat tip screwdriver
1 phillips head screwdriver
1 each 8,10,15 mm wrench
1 each adjustable crescent wrench
1 needlenose pliers
1 medium size channel locks
1 razor blade
1 roll of electrical tape
Thats about it. If I was going to the track to race, I'd throw a few more tools in there just to be safe.
