Default What the hell is this?

I'm pretty sure it's broken around the base cuz whatever it is it doesn't stand up straight it's wobbly and I can lift it up a fraction of an inch (feels like it's connected by a wire), when I hold it down on it's base it feels like it's pushing a metal diaphragm down cuz you can hear it click up and down. Can I just glue the shaft down to its base?

The red circle is the part, the green line is the split

BTW my car is holding an ungodly low oil pressure so I'm thinking this may have something to do with that

Told you. Sorry. I do hate it when I'm right. It sucks. Good luck with it. I think you need to use a wrench to remove it. I can't remember if I used a socket or not. But its not that hard to change especially since you have the intake off. Are you swapping intakes?

I have an 01 so I already have the LS6 intake, I just swapped heads and cam and when I started it for the first time the oil pressure was really low so I started hunting for problems and that's what I found
Again, the actual wire isn't broken
I think I already know the answer to this-but couldn't I just glue the shaft back to the base?

I would say absolutely not. But see what some others have said. I really don't think that will work. Not to mention it will break again. What if the diaphragm piece inside broke? You'd be looking at a lot of oil spray and before you know it, you're sending that engine to the scrapyard and buying a new one. Is it really worth it for the 50 bucks they cost?
