An electric cutout like the DMH is really the best choice. Open and close at the touch of a button. Where the hell did you find a $500 cutout?

i already ran it open headers once just for fun and compared to my built crate 350 sbc, it sounded meaner and way better, and neather sounded ANYTHING close to my beater 91 prelude when i had straight pipe on that, anyway, ya the droning i know can be bad, had to drive my 87 k5 (one with the crate 350 sbc) about 15miles to pick a friend up when it was in its open header stage and the ride home was annoying, ears kinda hurt afterwords too from passin cars it would blast it back into the truck, and too hot out for rollin windows up lol

my biggest fear (i like the QTP ones better then some) is the butter fly flap style leaking after like 10k miles or something cause it has debris in it or carbon build up, for those who have the butterfly style u 100% happy with them and how they function?

I don't get it man, do you also hate going to dragstrips because all the open header dragsters sound like ****?

To be honest, there's a big difference in a dedicated race car running open headers, and a stock cube/stock guts car running open headers. I always laugh a little bit when people say, "My car sounds like a pro stock car when I open the cutout!" and they're running a stock cam. Makes me wonder if they've ever actually heard a pro stock car in person.

If they did wind up leaking because of that, a little carb cleaner and a rag would take care of it pretty quickly, or you could zap them during oil changes to prevent any leaking due to improper sealing due to build-up.

Yes a built motor sounds different, but there's nothing wrong with the sound of a stock LS engine.

Skip to 2:24, and tell me that doesn't sound sweet...
