A/C Compressor My A/C went out as it just starting making this whinning noise and then then next day it was gone. No A/C in Houston Texas is horrible. So now that its cooler I am ready to do repairs on it and I am looking for a new A/C unit. I have been looking everywhere and found a few places that sell them online but they have different part number for a 2000 LS1 Trans AM Engine. I know how to change one out, however, did Pontiac make different compressors for the 1998 thru 2002 model LS1's? If so how do I know which one I need in order to get the correct replacement.
Is it normal to replace the dryer with the a/c compressor?
