He mentioned in a later post that the wrong gears were programmed in.

The shift point increase works just fine with an HPP, with the proper gears programmed and a stock tire height. I've done this on 3 different LS1 cars that I've owned, with 3 different HPPs over the years.

the site is www.texas-speed.com, and i've got a buddy that has a 98 ls1 a4 w/3.73s and a 4000 stall, and street-wise, it's a lot more well mannered than i would've thought.

I went to a shop today and they said with stock internals and nitrous there was no point in goin any bigger than a 2800 stall and said since im street racing to just keep my 323s and go no bigger than 73s

you can go 3.42's at the most is what I would do. a good mild 2800-3000 stall would be fine. Stock internals can handle 150 shot if tuned properly.

Well thats the thing . I asked about a dyno tune they told me base price is 450 then i said i wanted it tuned around my nitrous and he automatically went up to a grand??? What the hell is that about... if i was to put a 100shot 2800 stall and 3.73s would frost tune be good enough im trying to do this as cheap as possible . And also what is a window switch? They told me id need one.. i have no clue what that is. By the way guys at extreme are smart but cocky as hell and didnt help me out none!!! I will not be back at that store again.

I would definitely not do a 3.23 to 3.42 swap, the gains are almost non-existant and certainly don't justify the cost (unless someone is giving you a free stock rear out of an M6 car, and you do the labor yourself). With a 4L60E, you won't see much gain at all unless you do a big jump (like 2.73 to 3.73). This trans has a very aggressive 1st gear (as compared to the old TH350/400s), so a 3.23 (or even 2.73) can give you a very strong launch with the proper stall/suspension/tires.

A ~2800 stall would be fine if you plan to spray the car all the time. Otherwise, I'd want a 3500 stall, even for a stock internal engine.

All i do is street race and im highly considering a 4000 Stall, if your going to do the work and pay the money might as well get the most out of it, just run a good DR

There is no reprogramming required for a rim width change. It's only if you change overall tire diameter.

It seems like you're pretty set on using nitrous, and that's pretty much the most bang you can ever get for the buck.

Your goals for the car, how you intend to use the car, and your budget will all be factors that determine the best build route to go.
