Default LS6 Engine Upgrade

Does the LS6 Service Engine (part# 12498399) with the camaro oil pan swap easily into a F-body? Once the LS1 is removed and the LS6 put in are there any electrical connections that are different at all? (I know I must keep my throttle body). Or is it just a simple swap?

I guess a computer retune would be beneficial after the install as well.

Thanks!

is your ls1 blown or is this engine going in another project car. if your ls1 is fine there is no reason to pick up a 5k ls6 crate engine. after all, all you'll have is a stock ls6 engine. if your ls1 is still good that 5k can go to a h/c setup, or if its blown you can go with a stroker.

but to answer your question you can get by on stock tuning but you'll want a retune to take full advantage of the ls6. its a standard engine install.
