rpo code ws6 hi. i just recently got my 2000 trans am so i'm new to this forum really. anyway, I used a site to check my rpo codes from my vin. everything seemed right except i had the code ws6. my car isn't a ws6 though. no badges, no nothing. it has an aftermarket hood, so it looks like one and the last owner gave me the stock air intake (it has an slp system on it), which also isnt from a ws6. anyone have any idea why i have the code?

Check the door sticker to verify. If the sticker is not present, get a printout of the GM VIS from a dealer. If the WS6 code is present for your VIN on either of those, then you in fact have a WS6.

I've found that on occasion, they will omit some data for a given VIN (like build date). I've heard some others report misinformation on rare occasion as well.
In general, I think it's pretty accurate though, and so far all my double checks (between them and GM VIS) have been a match for RPOs.
