Steering column question This piece goes through the firewall to a knuckle, clevice, u-joint or etc.. anyway the piece going through the firewall was bent and curious if its all one piece to the steering wheel or if its seperate and can be replaced. picture attatched of what im wonder can be replaced. thank you.
If that's what I'm thinking of it's part of the steering shaft assembly, but I'm not sure if you can buy just the lower shaft of it or not. Here is an exploded view of the steering column that might help ya out. I think you're talking about #54
The piece you took a picture of is joined to the upper shaft via a greased joint
I don't have a picture of the entire shaft by itself, but it seems like you could get one from a junkyard. Or print out the diagram and take it to a dealer and ask them about it.
