Need help with engine identification I am looking to purchase a 6.0 truck motor for a swap and I am looking at the one pictured below. How can I tell if this is really a 6.0 before i fork over my cash? I would hate to get it home to find out it is a 5.3. The part number on the trans appears to correlate with a 4l80e and this was supposedly from a 2007 Chevy 2500 work van that was wrecked (hence the broken accessory mount)
I have tried searching through the forums here and read most of the stickies that looked like they would be on point without getting anywhere.

Thank you for pointing out that thread. the reply has some good information in it. However for someone who is new to these motors do you know where I could see a picture of these identifying marks? It would be best to find out any way to positively ID this withing pulling too many parts off or at a minimum being sure that I am only pulling the ones off that must be taken off.
I have googled and did see that there was a tab just below the head gasket that identified 4.8 and 5.3 but i was unaware this continued with the 6.0s.
Can that tab be seen by pulling off the passenger side plug wires or does the manifold need to come off?
Also I had read that there was casting numbers on the back of the block at the top a few places but have yet to find a forum to decode them or even a good picture of how to find them with the engine and trans bolted together.
