Help Please!!!!!

Installed a SLP 160 thermostat/goose neck? along with a fan control switch. (I have a 02 Trans AM cnvertiable.) I did everything as instructions stated, made sure to put the proper cooling fluid etc... my temp gauge still says it running 210. I also have a SES code that I seem to have set off. I don't no how that happen. Can anybody tell me why my car still seems to be running the same 210 temp. Advice appreciated.

With out reprogramming your compter your fans will still come on at the same time

Plus the temp gauge does not give the actual temp. It reads about 210 as long as you are in the "normal operating range", which I think is about 190 to 230. So your temp gauge will not read any different because of the 160 stat, except for maybe being slower to reach 210 on cold days.
