Save yourself the trouble and just do it the right way, from the bottom. That is how they were designed to come out. If your really want to do it from the top, just do a search on the forum. There are write ups on here about that.

IMO id pull it out from the bottom.. cant see why threw the top would be hard but like stated above its meant to be removed threw the bottom bro i did mine in a day all by my self for my first time no help what so ever....once you pull it threw the bottom you wont regret it or ever think about the top again unless you totally HAVE TO! and since its out might as well do a H/C

I know that it looks like a lot to you but I promise that it will be easier if you do it from the bottom. The first time pulled my motor, a buddy and I got it out and on the engine stand in about 3 1/2 hours. Its really not as bad as it looks or sounds.
