Motor swap question

Motor swap question
I have a 99 SS and it has EGR/AIR crap, but I also have a 2002 LS1 motor that I would like to swap in later in the future. Since it's a 02 motor it doesn't have EGR/AIR and if I swap that in would I be required to have this since my F-body is a 99? I also want to swap in my odometer from the 02 car since it has the mileage of the 02 motor. Is that illegal?

Either have the codes deleted and forget about it or swap the manifolds from your old motor with the proper connections for the egr/air. Easy if you wanna delete the codes... Still easy if you wanna leave the stuff

Yeah, just use the newer engine, and have those codes deleted, a mail order tune can do that. Go ahead and throw some headers and exhaust on the car and then have the mail order tune done,,that way you can also have the rear o2s deleted. That with the tune and the car will pick up a little more power, abd will still pass inspection.

You will have to ask people who are familiar with CA emissions laws what to do about the AIR & EGR.
As for the odometer, it doesn't matter that you're putting in a lower mileage engine, the car itself still has as many miles as your original odometer shows.
