Question Amsoil??

Anyone using Amsoil in their LS1? I currently use it in my motorcycle and like it. Any opinions good or bad?
Thanks,
Jocko

i love it. changed to amsoil after 4500 miles. i used 5w30 till i hit around 45000 miles and now i use 10w40 amsoil. i get it here in san antonio at this place called autobahn. its a foreign car shop. love the oil press that 10 40 gives.

I am thinking about switching to it. I currently use Mobil 1 but i like the way amsoil looks. Do you think it will be worth it to switch to Amsoil from Mobil 1?

Is it me.. or is Mobil 1 really thin? I've gone 1000 miles since my last oil change, and the oil is almost black?

I'm switching to Amsoil since I finally found a retailer here in Hawaii...

Amsoil is a very good oil, definitely one of the best. So far it's showing lower engine wear in the LS1 Synthetic Oil Life Study compared to Mobil 1.

I'm not sure if the Mobil one is just thin and burns quickly or if my car is running hotter than it's supposed to be and burning the oil.

Plan to install my oil temp guage this weekend... Hopefully that'll let me know if I need to get an oil cooler..

But I'm definitely gonna start running Amsoil.

Amsoil is great... Here's proof:
1995 Ford Explorer, 5 speed manual, 4.0L V6, 4x4...
Traded in with 257,000 miles.
Ran Amsoil from mile 2000 onward...
In 257,000 miles all we ever did was routine maintenance & a clutch
1 month after trade in- the master tech at the dealer called us.
They couldn't sell it because of the mileage, so he scrapped it and put the engine in to replace one which was having issues in his Ranger.
Currently has about 38,000 miles on the motor since the swap.
Engine is still running great. With "leakdown results like we usually see around 20k miles".

Amazing. I will NEVER use another oil. In fact, I got so motivated- I became a dealer and sell to my friends/family & non-profit groups (for no profit myself).

BTW- my jeep has 97,000 miles. Many hard-offroad and some towing. No problems to date...

I have been using Amsoil for about five years now in my dirbikes, Trans Am, moms Envoy, Toyota truck and its by far the best oil IMO. I use to use Redline 2 stroke oil it my dirtbikes, and it always gummed up my carb and never burnt clean. Amsoil great oil. I tell everyone I can about it and how happy I am with it. They have a whole line of lubricants for cars, boats, dirtbikes, and 4X4's. Give it a try
