Default LS6 Intake

I have a 2000 SS Camaro so my car didnt come with the LS6 intake. Is it that much better that i should upgrade to the LS6 in the near future? Also will i need to get my car tuned after the swap? Right now i have the stock LS1 intake with EGR. Thanks in advance

The ls6 intake is worth time/$$$. As for a tune, if your planning more mods in the near future I would wait. It will run fine with out one. The ses light will be on for the egr removal.

About 10WHP and 10WTQ, this is a difference you will feel, it'll be slight, but it will be there. i recommend it.

I wouldn't necessarily expect that much gain from an LS6 intake by itself on an otherwise completely stock LS1. Closer to 5rwhp might be more likely with stock exhaust manifolds; more with headers though. It's a great supporting mod, and the gains would be significant with other mods in place (especially heads/cam).

My feeling has long been that if your car still has the LS1 intake, and you want to upgrade it, then forget the LS6 and go straight to the FAST. The LS6 intake is an improvement over the LS1 intake, but, especially if you plan to go H/C, too, the FAST gives you more room to grow.
