Besides, any rattle can be fixed. I was a stereo installer before, and import cars rattled just as much as any domestic whenever we installed subs in there. It was our job to locate rattles and fix them. Not really a big deal.
Overall, the interior components used in import sports cars are nicer, including the quality of the plastic used. But, I'd sacrifice that for an extra dose of hauling *** anyday.
I have had the 99 Bird and currently still drive my 01' WS6. No rattles.
I have had to replace the driver side window because of the way it sets it will wiggle when the window is down some, that has been replaced so no noise there any longer.
But, I paid 25k for a car that was 37k the previous year and is no longer made (collectable) and it was at it's peak performance ever. Which is the main reason I bought it. I was tired of V6 and V4 engines that lacked the feeling of power I had with my first car (70 Grand Prix with a 455). And, this car was peforming as well as cars well over 50k and 200k in acceleration. Still to this day the LS1 engine is glorified by many for it's sheer capacity to perform. I would not trade this car for anything currently out there for less than 40k, IMO.
But frankly I'm not buying cars because they have BMW or Mercedes attention to detail... rattles are the least of my thoughts when purchaseing a car at the moment since the focus tends to lay on performance. Regardless of the maker, if I buy a car for the reason it was made, I'm not going to care if the interior side panels make noise heh.
