Default The Right Car

About 3 months ago I had the chance to pick up a 2001 Z28 M6 for 5500 that had 125K and was in pretty bad shape but mechanically sound as far as I could tell, but I passed on it because my wife convinced me there would be a better deal. Thank God she did because just last week I picked up a 2002 Z28 M6 with 95K for 8500 and it is in perfect shape, there is literally nothing wrong with this car and is bone stock. Hate to say it but the wifey was right.

Has anyone here passed on a car and it was the right thing because a much better one came along that was worth it?

i looked at a camaro that i was set on when my other one was breaking down on me and it was a pretty good deal but my dad made me fix the car i had and wait longer to buy a newer one. a month later i found a 2000 z28 with a body kit, hood, that i actually liked and catback, stb, and a few other things with 84k on it which was way less then the other one and was much cleaner for 6 grand. i was def glad i waited and always try to remember to be patient when looking at different things to buy now

I think just about everyone has experienced this, it has been the case for me several times over the years.

But on the other hand, I have also passed on cars and then NOT found anything as good or better. This happed to me with an old Chevelle in the spring of 2010, I have yet to find one that's a nicer car for a better deal.

So it can work both ways (and usually does to all of us at some point).

i hve a bad habit of always looking for F-Bodies even when i dont need one. so that when i eventually am looking for a new car i know of almost all of the ones for sale.

got my 98ss hardtop M6 with 82k miles for 5500 =] just needed new tires and the hood and spoiler repainted thanks to SLP's crappy paint... so $6500 invested and i have a perfect 82k mile SS =]
