Headers?

Headers? I was thinking about getting a nice pair of header for a 98 trans am and I was told that without boring out cylinders,getting a bigger throttlebody or anything that the headers wouldnt do crap exept for make it sound better is this true?
Who ever told you that is full of sh*t. After "boring out" you should have just ignored the rest. To maximize the gain, yes, you'll also want a ported TB, LS6 or better intake, good catback or cut out, etc; but you'll still get a good gain with longtube headers.
Now if they recommended doing the above mods first then added longtubes, that's different. And you don't "bore out" a LS1, iron truck block -ok- but not an aluminum one.

Agreed^ lol... Dont believe who ever told you that anymore! Ported LS6 intake, ported TB, longtube headers, cat back or true duals, cam, etc etc are some of the first mods that should be done.
