First upgrade?

I just got a 2002 trans am ws6 and was wondering, what is the best power upgrade to do first? And so on? Any help is appreciated.

+1 for what trans? If auto, a stall will be the best first mod and of course a tune. If M6, then longtubes and tune and MGW shifter will do.

slp lid, slp loudmouth-2 or eaqually free flow exhaust, subframe connectors were my first 3 and all were nice bumps, and seat of pants improvements for the bucks.

Is it worth doing headers at the same time as the rest of the exhaust or just wait on that?

On the slp lid, is it worth getting the whole setup from slp or just the lid?

For that price, you may as well get the texas speed headers. Atleast they are stainless steel.

as mentioned, do full exhaust, stall, 3:73's, tune, and tires.
TSP 1 7/8
LM2
3200-3600 stall
yukon gears are said to be the quietest
nitto 555r's are good on street and track

that combo should get you into the high 7's on an 1/8 mile strip and be very fun on the street

The "best" headers are either American Racing or Kooks and they are expensive. All will require an aftermarket y-pipe.

As far as exhaust I would go on youtube and listen to different setups. Most popular brands are Borla adjustable, SLP Loudmouth, Magnaflow

best are mentioned in the previous post, but best bang for your buck would probably be TSP 1 7/8 stainless headers or pick up a set of used Pacesetters in the classifieds section....if you have emissions testing where you live, you will want a catted y-pipe.....if not, grab a regular TSP stainless y

different catback exhausts can be researched at LS1sounds.com

Loudmouth 1 (LM1) is very agressive
Loudmouth 2 (LM2), Borla, and GMMG are kind of in the middle of the road
Magnaflow has a nice, quiet tone at idle, but when you go full throttle it gets loud like the others
