Default 98 rear end install help

I bought a 2000 z28 automatic last year has what I believe is a bad axle bearing guy said he drove it for a year and a half that way so I figured axle is probably shot as well I picked up a rear end out of a manual 98 so I have the 3.42 instead of 2.73 but I don't want to just throw it in my car has 87000 which is around what the rear end is supposed to have.... I'm planning on doing axle bearings and seals brakes new fluid and a new coat of paint what else do you recommend thought about pinion seal but don't really wanna mess with setting preload and also what fluid was thinkin maybe royal purple? Thanks posted in drivetrain but no response

Yeah I think I will be pretty happy with the gear ratio I had originally planned on just cleaning it up and putting it in since it only had 80000 on it but then I realized my car has 80000 on it and has a bad bearing so better change those it looks in decent shape I just want to make sure I get everything done that I should before I put it in.... Not real sure how comfortable I would be just throwing in a new seal without a new crush sleeve
