A Tuner based question...
Ive had an Edit done. Now the only things adjusted were AFR, timing, shift-points (A4) and shift firmness.
Is there anything else that can contribute to improved performance, efficiency and power?
Is it worth getting the dyno curve as straight as possible and flat as possible at peak power?

You really can't use EDIT or any tuner to change the curves of your dyno graph, thats not the purpose of it. What you can do is adjust the Air/Fuel ratio for each rpm to keep it optimum, and push the timing up at each rpm just high enough to not cause pinging/detonation. The curve profiles are going to be dictated by your engine hardware (head flow numbers, cam specs, exhaust setup...) not by tuning.
One other thing you didn't mention was Knock Retard. If your car is seeing false knock retard, you are losing power. This sensitivity and attack/decay rate can be tweaked using EDIT if you are seeing false knock. You will need AutoTap to monitor the car at wide open throttle to determine if you are getting any KR readings.
Do a search on these items in the PCM Diagnostics forum, tons of info in there.
