Possessed Starter?
My wife drove the car, said it was making a "funny noise" after starting, drove it for a bit then supposedly it stopped. That night, the car decided to turn over, spinning the motor and of course setting off the alarm. This happened twice that evening, I disconnected the battery the next day until I could get time to look at it. I reconnected the battery's neg. terminal, started the car, I heard the starter still spinning. Changing positions with the key, off, on, she would fire up in the run position, but the starter would not stop. I had to keep the engine running, jump out and disconnect the battery again, THEN shut the car off. Has anyone had this problem? I'm thinking keyswitch, relay, solenoid.......any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
That would be disturbing to hear in the garage at night.
Does your alarm have remote start capability? That is where I would start...er..begin.
If not, I'd suggest then disconnecting the wires from the harness to the solenoid and see if it continues..that will tell you if it is the solenoid or something upstream from it like the switch, etc.

There is no remote start on the car, but hitting the key fob Lock/Unlock at least quieted the alarm and stopped the starter. I'm thinking starter relay, as there was no key in it at 1:30am, and it never started on its own, she just "tried to". I was really hoping someone had something similar happen before I tear things apart....
I am going to suggest the BCM.. Body Control Module. It seems like now that these car are getting to 10-15 years old this is happening a lot. Do a web search for "BCM starter camaro(or Firebird if you want)" and you'll likely be at least motivated to check it.
Good luck!
