ls1 swap I am very much trying to find some info on a ls1 swap don't know anything about these can someone help what I have is a 2004 ls1 automatic gto blowed motor I also have a wreck 99 ls1 Camaro what problems is it to put the 99 Camaro motor in the 04 gto body thanks to anyone that can help its my first ls1 project
If you strip it down to the long block(or even the short block if you want to use the later heads), I believe it should all bolt up without major fuss. You might want to post in the conversions and hybrids section for ultimate confirmation. I know the head bolts changed in 2004 but other than that everything from the GTO should bolt right onto the block and heads from the Camaro.
Then you are probably good to go. I'd still post this in the conversions and hybrids section. I'd bet a dollar that someone there has done this exactly and will know the couple of gotchas that might exist.
