Is my fuel pump OK? (Video included.)
OK, so, my TransAm is a 1998 WS6, 40K miles on it, one owner (before me.) About two weeks ago I hit the brakes too hard in the rain, and my back end spun out on me. Nobody hit me, but I went up on the sidewalk, and the engine shut off on impact. When I went to start the car back up (after inspecting it, and having someone follow me to the garage right across the street), it took about 4-5 seconds for the car to start. This alarmed me, but the shop did a "quick check" and nothing seemed out of place. Every single time since then, the car starts up instantly.
When I parked the car in the driveway today, I heard a really obnoxious whine coming from my car. I took a video of it for you guys really quick, and also noticed it makes the exact same whine during prime. Is my fuel pump on its way out now? The car starts perfect for now, and I've had zero changes in performance/throttle response, nor any kind of engine light. (They also checked for silent codes, and it was clean.) I have a fuel pressure gauge, but I don't think its accurate because it used to say my LT1 Camaro was at like 75PSI, which I didn't even think was possible, so I don't have anything to measure it against.
