Default Can't drill through rivets to get off window motor...

For those of you who've replaced a window motor, HOW do you get the rivets off? Everyone said to drill through them, which I've attempted with marginal results. I'm using the black drill bits too but no dice. Is it just something you have to do for a long time? Or am I missing something here?

Are you drilling through the correct rivets? I haven't done one of these since probably 2011, but I don't recall ever having issues in this regard. Those rivets should drill out pretty easily.

Are you trying to remove the big ones for the regulator?

Perhaps a picture would help us better understand, if you can provide one.

Never mind, I actually managed to drill the end of the rivets off all three and popped off 2/3. Didn't have a C-clamp to hold the window up and couldn't get off the last rivet on the top because it was too late tonight. I have a GM Mechanic friend that I'm stopping by tomorrow after work that will just help me finish the last part.

lol, lucky that last rivet wouldn't come off if you didn't have something holding the window up. Woulda been replacing more than just the motor if that happened.
