Default knocking noise?

In third gear and fourth at wot, a rattling noise comes from the engine bay. I checked under the car and nothing is banging. I thought it was a rod knocking, but when you rev it up there is no noise. Also when the rattling starts it feels like it loses a little power in the upper rpms.

Sounds like detonation or "pinging".
How many miles are on the car?

Its got 37,000 miles, but it also sat for about 7 months if that helps anything. For the pinging would i need higher octane?

I believe these cars like 91 octane or better.
Might be all crudded up. Try some cleaner. People here have attested that Sea Foam works well. I've used BG Products before and they always produced good results. Do a search here, I'm sure something will turn up.

Oh, new plugs might help also.

I have to use 92 octane or higher in mine to avoid that noise, but I do have the hypertech PP3 programming installed.
