limiter on headlight?

Default limiter on headlight?

my damb headlights are starting to go out i think. when i turn the headlights off the drivers side healight wil continue trying to go down after it is all the way down. it grindes the gears and makes a wonderfull sound . should i just get a new headlight motor or does anyone know how to adjust the limiter switch? thanks.

No limiter switch to adjust. The headlamp control module uses current sensing to sense when the light has reached it's travel limits. Your plastic gear is stripped within the motor housing. Crack open the housing and reposition the plastic gear 180 degrees. Only half of the gear is used, and by flipping it, you'll be using the fresh teeth and the motor will function as new.

That happens when the gears get stripped. You can do the free mod which just rotates the gear to the unused half or replace it with a brass gear.
