Default New to LS

Hello everyone I am new to LS motors and trying to learn. I am currently starting a new build (1936 chevy master deluxe coupe) and everyone is telling me to go with a LS motor to get power and economy. I have been thinking of a built 350sb to try and get a 10 second car. If I was to go with a LS can anyone give suggestions on what to get or go with to achieve this? Thank you in advance

There are a lot of things to do to make a 10 second car. There are LS1's in the 10's, but the cars are totally build for it, ultimate weight reduction and a good amount of laughing gas . . . let's not forget the donkey dick cam and the +5000 stall. What weight is the vehicle you are considering it for?

the LS is SBC.

virtually one of the most versatile engines in terms of configuration and can be tailored to whatever your needs are. You cant go wrong

I used to hate LS/SBC/V8s and think they were a waste of time, as I grew up in a mostly 'JDM' country, where V8 holdens/fords were for managers and the cheap crapped out ones for bogans or simply found in classic cars.

Since then have dropped an LS3 (376 SBC) in a Honda S2000, the stock F20C JDM has most hp/L of any production car until 15 years later the Ferrari 458 italia came out. But that's a meaningless metric in the real world.
The LS will smoke it in every metric bar 60-70lbs of weight in the transmission... with superior efficiency.

I was so ignorant.

Basically... LS swap the world. Do it!

The 1936 chevy coupe I am thinking about putting the LS in weighs stock at 2300lbs hoping to keep it around that. I am have a frame custom built for it, so it will have all new suspension the 4 link and all wheel disc.

This is the coupe I am thinking about putting the LS motor in. It currently weighs around 2300lbs. Having a custom chassis built with all new suspension 4 link 9 inch rear end. Hoping to keep it about 2300lbs

The LS is a Gen 3/Gen 4 SBC, and far more capable.

Stock junkyard pullouts with cheap turbo setups have been running 8's in the quarter mile for years now in full weight street cars.

Decide whether you want boost/nitrous/NA and go from there.
