Default Swapping a seized 5.3 for another

So i'm not exactly new to LS's, but I'm unsure of a few things. I have a 2001 suburban that has a good running 5.3 but the body's trashed. I just picked up a 2000 K1500 truck that has a good body but the motors trashed. The PO wasn't really sure what happened, but it sounds like a head gasket or something that resulted in the plastic radiator grenading. Then it sat for a few years and when his friend tried to fire it up it wont turn over. So long story short, My plan is to swap it out for the one in my suburban. What all needs to transfer over? Which computer should I use? Also, on the truck, somebody along the line has cut the cats off the truck. Here in Idaho theres no emission testing, but is that gonna mess up the computer? Is there any performance gain in having them gone and having the computer reflashed to delete the rear O2's?

I want to have all my ducks in a row before I get started so I can do the swap as fast as I can. Thanks

Its pretty straight forward on this.

Just swap the engine's from one vehicle to the other. Leave the ECU and wiring in the truck and re use it. It will make life much simpler as far as getting it running.

Not really a gain to removing the cats unless your making big power.

Do I need to put new cats on the truck since the PO cut them off?
